Meet Sharon

Hi, I’m Sharon. I am the loving mother of two amazing grown boys who are now both business owners as well. I am just a little quirky and love to celebrate life and my kids when I can.

Sewing is my favorite part of the business. It gives me joy, and I am passionate about it.  When I can combine sewing with helping clients make their homes more beautiful, it’s perfect for me.

The Backstory 

I believe I was made to have this amazing career. My mother was custom dress maker and taught me to sew at the age of five. She always told me,

"Do it the right way, Sharon Lynn, and people will appreciate your work."

Mom didn’t know it at the time, but she actually helped me name my business by suggesting “Styles By Sharon” all those years ago when we were sewing together.

I keep Mom’s sage advice with me even now and remember it every time I am doing a project. It's a constant delight for me to take a flat piece of fabric and shape it into a three-dimensional work of art.

The Business

I attended Virginia Tech and have a bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising and a master's in Clothing and Textiles. 

When babies came along, I chose to stay home and create my own business for custom window treatments and bedding. Over the last 20 years, I have successfully added blinds, shades, shutters, and motorized treatments.

I have built my business on the basis of hard work, integrity, and ethics no matter the situation, and I believe that shines through to my clients.

The Memberships

I am a member of the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) and have served as president, vice president, and treasurer of our local chapter.
